Privacy
Last updated October 21, 2026
dash doesn't collect anything about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, in the app or on this site. Nothing you do in dash is sent to me.
The app
- Location. dash uses your location while it's open to measure your speed and how far you are from your destination. That happens on your phone.
- Search and routes. When you search for a place or start a trip, dash asks Apple Maps (MapKit) for results and a route. Apple receives what you typed, your current location and your destination, under Apple's privacy policy. During a trip dash asks Apple again for an updated arrival estimate every few minutes, which sends your current location each time. Apple is the only outside service the app talks to.
- Motion. dash reads the phone's motion sensors to smooth your speed between GPS updates. That data never leaves the phone.
- What's saved. Your settings and your last five destinations are stored on your phone, and in your own iCloud or computer backups if you use them. Nothing goes to me. Deleting the app deletes them.
This website
- The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to run the service. See Netlify's privacy policy.
- The 3D graphics load a library (three.js) from jsDelivr, which sees your IP address when your browser fetches it. See jsDelivr's privacy policy.
- No cookies.
